A giant version of the "Star Flyer", a Funtime & Ride Entertainment ride, is now confirmed for Tivoli Copenhagen.
The new City Council has given Tivoli the go-ahead to build the world’s tallest carousel. Guests at the venerable Tivoli gardens in Copenhagen next summer will be able to claim to have ridden the world’s highest carousel. Tivoli announced on Friday that the city council had given the amusement park in the centre of Copenhagen permission to construct the 80-metre high Sky Ship, a classic swing carrousel that will give a bird’s eye view over the city. Currently, the park’s highest attraction is the 63-metre Golden Tower. The previous city council had rejected the park’s application to build the carousel after area residents complained over noise from a modern roller coaster installed in the park in 2004. The Sky Ship, developed together with Austrian Funtime, will consist of 12 two-person chairs that revolve around a central pillar at a speed of 70 kilometres per hour.
