UK is having several smaller parks close to the seaside. We all may know Blackpool Pleasure Beach or Brighton Pier, but Clarence Pier nearby Portsmouth is not so known.
The park was opened in 1861, but was destroyed because of World War II in 1941. It took 20 years before the park reopened. It was combining a funfair, with some nice food stalls, a café, and of course some casinos, attracting a lot of people to the coast side.
